Too Quiet?

When it gets too quiet around our house these days, I start to worry. It generally means Logan is putting toys in the toilet or climbing on top of the table! So on Friday, it got quiet while I was making dinner and I went to investigate. I found my boy, worn out from the week, just relaxing in the recliner with his blanket.
Of course, a few minutes later it got quiet once more. I waited to investigate. This time, I found Logan splashing in a puddle of water next to Greg's nightstand. He had pulled the water cup off the nightstand and made quite a mess! You just never know what he's up to...

Happy Birthday to Greg

Today was Greg's 33rd birthday. We were super busy but had a good day. We went to church, helped with 4 year old Sunday school, ate at McDonalds, went to Uncle Brian's for Daddy and Logan to go swimming-- Mommy went to a shower-- and then met up with all of Greg's family at Golden Corral for a birthday dinner. Logan had a lot of fun with his family. Here are some updated photos of Logan and the Higgins family.

Branson 2009

We took a weekend trip to Branson, MO with the Pruetts and Grandma and Grandpa Bradley. We left Friday, Sept. 11th at 9 am. Greg, Logan and I rode with mom and dad. Logan was a perfect traveler. He listened to his music, looked at books, played with toys, and even took his afternoon nap!! Ryan, Julie, Nick and Alex came separately. We all met up at the Best Western in Branson on Friday afternoon. This is the second year we've stayed there and it's a great place. It's right next to Silver Dollar City, it has a big indoor pool and baby pool, and it has a free, delicious breakfast!!
On Friday night we went out to dinner and celebrated Ryan and Greg's birthdays. We had a great buffet dinner I think it was called Grand Country Buffet. It was seriously good!! It was actually Ryan's birthday... Greg's birthday is Sept. 27th, but we just celebrate both in Branson. Julie and Ryan went shopping and Greg, Logan, and I and Nick, Alex, Grandpa and Grandma all went back to the hotel to swim. That's right! My mom went swimming... for the first time in probably 20 years! The things grandparents will do for their grandkids. We put Logan to bed about 8 pm. He slept awesome both nights at the hotel.
On Saturday morning we went to Silver Dollar City. Logan got to ride a few rides... like the tram in the parking lot!
He also could ride the bugs and the frogs.

He wanted the bug to fly the whole time and would say, "UP, UP"

He thought he was as big as the "big boys" (Nick and Alex) this whole trip and wanted to do everything they were doing.

Logan also enjoyed petting to goats and trying to climb in with the chickens.

The other place that was great for him was the ball area. The bigger kids can suck up the balls with these big "vacuum cleaners" or shoot them out of these guns but Logan just liked running around in them.

There was also a fountain in this area that Logan got SOAKED in! We were very busy all day at Silver Dollar City and I was exhausted by the end... carrying around Tyson and pushing Logan in his stroller... whew, that was a work out.

We spent the evening at the Hotel again. The boys all went swimming and had a lot of fun. I did not take my camera to the pool. I did not want anyone taking pictures of me in a maternity swim suit.... yuck! My dad did have Greg take one picture that I was in but he told me I could hide behind his raft!!

We came home on Sunday and Logan did great in the car, again. It was a very relaxing vacation and we had a lot of fun hanging out with everybody... especially Logan's cousins Nick and Alex.

I'm a big kid now

Logan has moved into his big boy booster seat. He still sits in his highchair sometimes. He doesn't really like to sit still long enough to eat and the high chair was becoming a fight. Yep, my kiddo does the lay on the floor screaming because he doesn't want to sit in his chair. So I figured I'd give him a choice of the high chair or the booster. It seems to be working so far.
He looks like such a big boy sitting in his chair.
He also likes to pull out the kitchen chairs, climb on the chair, and then climb up on the table. Where do they learn this stuff? So I figured, if you can climb on it, you can clean it! Here's Logan washing the table after dinner. He enjoyed it!

Tyson's room

Tyson's room primed and ready to paint.

Greg doing the cutting in. The color is sage green. It's so relaxing. I hope it makes for a relaxed baby.

It can't be all work and no play... daddy and Logan taking a break to wrestle in Logan's room.

Tyson's room is finished being painted and we moved Logan's crib into Tyson's room. Grandma and Grandpa Higgins bought Logan a new crib!! It's all set up in his room. The rooms look great and I'm so thankful that Greg got it done so early. Woo hoo! I'll post pictures later.

Greg found the camera!!

Greg and I spent Saturday afternoon turning our living room upside down looking for the camera. Greg was the big winner when he found it stuck in the recliner. We were so excited! It was like we won the lottery or something. So now I can resume my blogging. Just to catch up, here were the pictures that were on the camera.

Sometime this summer (I can't even remember when) we took a trip to Grant's Farm with Grandma and Grandpa Bradley, Aunt Julie, and Nick and Alex. The boys all loved it.
Julie and Alex on the tram.

Logan and Grandpa on the tram.

Grandma and Nick on the tram.We also painted Tyson's room but I'll put those pictures in the next post. I'll probably be addicted to my camera and my blog for a while now!!

New words

So I realized I haven't updated words Logan can say since he was 13 months and he's learning so many new words every day. I wanted to keep track because some day it might be interesting to me... or maybe not.

Logan is 16 months old now and suprises me every day with new words that he knows.

Elephant (He loves to see the big pink elephant on 141 and yell, "El-fant, El-fant"

duck

fish

bird

hippo

giraffe (firaffe)

baby

book ("boop")

Nick

Alex

Grandma

Grandpa

Julie (ju-ju, or ju-eee)

Tyson

please

don't

up

jump

apple

I love you (I la lew)

He's also trying to have conversations with us and using short phrases which is so fun. He likes to look at pictures his cousins on the fridge. The other day he said, "There Nick." and pointed.

Also, I had him name all of his cousins. When we got to Jared he said, "I no no" and I said, "Jared" and then he said, "Jared" but that's the only time he's said that one! He can say "J.J" for Jared.

Animal sounds:

Arf!

meow

croak

ahahah (for a monkey)

He also makes a truck sound and waves at every single person who drives past our house. My neighbors love it. They now slow down so they can wave with Logan.
