And then there were three....

Today is Chinese New Year. Today is the day my sister has chosen to announce to the world that she is adopting a little boy, Alex. Today is Alex's fourth birthday. Happy Birthday, Alex! I think Logan will think you are just as cool as your big brother Nick. Here is a picture of the two boys, soon there will be three!
You can check out my sister's adoption journal at www.youbelong.net/pruett.

Please pray for Julie, Ryan, Nick, and Alex that they can be united as a family soon.

I like to move it...

Logan is on the move. I've been waiting to post this because I wanted to say he is crawling. He's not crawling. In fact, I'm not sure he will ever crawl. But he is moving. He rolls. He scoots on his bottom. Sometimes I don't know how he gets from here to there. But the next thing I know, he's opening the doors on the entertainment center looking for a movie! Oh, life changes so fast.
The other day I left him on the floor while I went to load the car for a day at my parents.
When I returned, Logan was gone. My heart did that crazy drop to the pit of your stomach thing. You know, I never felt that quite as strongly until I became a mommy.

And then a second later, I looked down and saw this. Peekaboo!

He traveled a pretty good distance. :)
Ps. At my mom's house yesterday, he pulled up all by himself! You go, boy!

8.5 months old

I am eight months old.

I like to eat my socks.

I like to play with my barn.

I like to sit in the laundry basket and watch TV.

I like to drink juicy juice.

But I don't like to go out in the cold.

(For all my Reading Recovery friends, do you think this post could be a R.R. book? About a level 4 or 5? :) )

Juicy Juice

Logan is now into drinking Juicy Juice for breakfast. He does really well with a straw- much better than with a cup. Since the doctor wants him weaned by 9 months (that's ....ummm... in like 3 weeks, yikes!) and he doesn't like drinking from a cup, we might have a problem. Luckily, Juicy Juice is here to solve our problem.
There are no problems with Juicy Juice. But when you mix it with an 8 month old who had recently decided to assert his independence, a few problems arise.

Figured it out!

Juicy juice. Yum!!

Christmas with the Higgins family

We celebrated Christmas with Glenn, Joyce, the Pennings, and Brian on Saturday. Logan was very happy all day. He must have known it was our last Christmas gathering! He once again enjoyed the bows, boxes and wrapping paper more than the actual presents.

Jared was the present passer.

Everyone got lots of fun, cool stuff. Logan got a puzzle and cellphone from Uncle Brian, slippers, mega blocks, and a Fridge Phonics from Grandma and Grandpa, and a John Deere camo shirt from Pam, Jason, and Jared. We spent a considerable about of time trying to unpackage the toys. We also enjoyed good conversation and company and sat around and ate Christmas cookies. Logan is going to have a lot of fun trying to keep up with his cousin Jared in the next few years. After the present opening, we had another talent(less) show. Brian had given Jared a percussion set. Brian doesn't have kids yet so he doesn't know that percussion sets are not a good idea. Pam probably won't forget. She will probably buy a percussion set for every one of Brian's kids someday... or at least something that makes a lot of noise. But I digress... our talent show consisted of singing Christmas carols while various people played various percussion instruments. After the talent show, we were all tired out and it was time for us to go home. The rest of the family went to the Blues game for the evening but we are not partiers like the rest of the family and we had to go home and SLEEP!! :)
