Has anyone seen my camera?
I haven't updated my blog because I've lost my camera... bummer. A blog is no fun without pictures to accompany. Logan played outside today. I really wanted to take pictures. We took all of his sand toys... buckets and shovels... and I filled them with oatmeal instead of sand. It was a great activity and I didn't have to worry about him eating the "sand". I have to go sweep the front porch before daddy gets home... I'm sure he'd be super excited if we attracted a bunch of ants to our front porch. When I find the camera, I'll update again. Logan is growing so much lately.

It's a....
BOY! Baby Higgins #2 is a boy. I guess he can now have a name other than Baby Higgins. We plan to name him Tyson Gregory. He is scheduled to arrive on January 13, 2010. Hopefully he will be on time or even early!
We had an ultrasound today. He was very active during the ultrasound. We got to see all of his little body parts and everything looked great! He never stopped moving until the end when the technician wanted to get a picture of his face. Then he fell asleep with his hand in front of his face! She was able to get a decent profile picture of him. He looks perfect.
Logan stayed at home with Grandma and Grandpa while we went to the doctor. He had fun being spoiled by them. Of course, he doesn't understand what all is going on. He'll probably figure it out around Jan. 14th or so...

Who's your daddy?
Sorry if we've freaked you out lately. Our latest victim was a 20 something year old male. He had just sat down to enjoy a coffee from Starbucks on a mall bench when we passed. Logan began pointing and yelling, "Da-da, Da-da." The poor guy looked around for someone else. When he realized Logan was actually pointing at him, he uncomfortably looked away. The more he ignored Logan, the more insistant and loud Logan became.
Last week, it was a high school boy who was our checker in Walmart. The boy looked around like, "Who me?" I laughed and said, "It's his favorite word." The boy didn't laugh. (At least it wasn't one of my former fifth grade students working at Walmart).
Oh, and the week before, Logan was shopping with Grandma and Grandpa. Logan targeted an older gentleman and began shouting, "Da-da." He didn't stop. The man (again) didn't laugh. And the older man's wife looked somewhat suprised!!
Just to be clear, there is no question who my "baby daddy" is. Logan definitely knows his daddy, too. When Greg comes home from work, I say, "Daddy's home." Logan runs to the couch, climbs up, and looks outside and points. He yells, "Da-da" or "da-DEE". It's just his favorite word in the whole world. Oh, and he loves to point. So if you are an innocent bystander and we've freaked you out, please accept our apologies... and ignore my muffled laughter as you look away uncomfortably.

15 months old
Logan turned 15 months old on August 1. He is a happy, healthy boy. He had his 15 month check up yesterday. He is 25 1/2 lbs. (60th percentile) and 33 1/2 inches tall (95th percentile). His head is also in the 60th percentile.
He is learning so much. He can walk and run anywhere now. He also learned how to march at Grandma and Grandpa's this weekend.
He is very friendly. He waves at every car that passes and usually waves at every person in the grocery store. He loves all of his nursery workers at church and all the kids-- and all the cool toys they have too, I think.
He is learning so many new words. Instead of repeating words, he will name something out of the blue-- something I didn't even know he knew the word for. For instance, we were reading a book and I turned the page and he saw and apple and pointed and said, "apple."
He also just started saying Grandma and Grandpa. It's not super clear. It's more like, "Gmama". When my dad left the room the other day he started yelling, "gapapa, gapapa." sweet!
He now signs -- more, drink, and eat.
He loves to laugh and he thinks his cousins Nick and Alex are hilarious... well, especially Nick. He thinks everything Nick does is great.
His favorite activity is reading books. He loves his animal books. He wants us to read to him every minute of every day :)
He also loves to sing. He sings, "Jesus loves me" by singing "ya, je-je". He sings "Wheels on the bus" by saying, "round and round, round and round." And he "sings" along to the radio. The words to every song are, "da-da-da-da-da-da."
He also plays with his toys more. When he wakes up, he wants to carry all of his tractors with him into the living room. He likes to drive tractors with daddy.
He loves to be outside and cries when he has to come inside. He reacts a lot to mosquito bites so we have to watch out for that!
He is changing so much every day and learning so much. I could write so much about this age. I want to remember all that he is learning at this stage.
We are so blessed to have such a healthy, sweet boy. And in less than a week we will know if Logan is going to have a baby brother or sister to play with soon. Any guesses?

Just Like Daddy
Logan loves to play outside... just like his daddy. He loves to play in the dirt... just like his daddy. I used to try and keep Logan out of the dirt but I've realized it's futile and a little dirt won't hurt. So now he digs in the dirt and keeps himself entertained- which is kind of nice.
Greg has been working to clear our yard of rocks and sticks and unwanted trash for months. He has gotten rid of buckets and buckets and buckets of rocks.
Logan must be watching Greg work because when we go outside he sits down in a pile of dirt and sifts the dirt.
Then he finds a rock or a stick, something you don't want in your dirt.
And he carries it over to the side and makes a pile of all his unwanted treasures.
I need to get him a bucket to put his rocks and sticks in. Then he could be Just Like Daddy!
