5 little monkeys jumping on the bed...

one fell off and bumped his head.... that one was Logan. Greg and I were both right there, but Logan decided to do a kamakaze dive to the floor. I freaked out and googled "what to do when your baby falls off the bed. "One person suggested, "Pick him up". But I also learned something new from my search. According to one old wives tale, a baby will have good luck if he falls off a bed before his first birthday. Whew, we were cutting it close. And since he only cried for a few minutes and there were no injuries, I guess it's worth the good luck.

First Haircut

I took Logan to get his first haircut today. Here is the before:
(I wish I had taken one on the same day right before we went but I didn't think of it. This was taken earlier in the week.)

Here is the after:

He's trying to say, "cheese".

I really didn't know it would take away his "baby" look so much. He looks like such a big boy now! He'll be one a week from today!!

Oh, and I didn't take any pictures while he was getting a haircut because I was trying to keep him entertained and keep him from crawling off my lap. He was very good and didn't cry except when the lady used the trimmers at the end. Luckily, she was very fast!!

Easter at Grandma and Grandpa's House

Who hunts eggs on Easter anymore?? We raced cars (and horses) in the basement. Grandma and Grandpa got a little intense.

And yes, there were injuries!! Uncle Ryan sustained a minor shoulder injury.

Easter Morning

The Easter Bunny Came!!

And brought bubbles!

Nick's Birthday Party

Nick turned 5 years old on April 9th. We got to help him celebrate his 5th birthday with a dinosaur party at his house.
Here is Logan with the birthday boy, Nick, and Jake looking for dinosaur eggs.

Logan just liked eating the grass.

We even got to go outside and hunt for eggs. We didn't find any dinosaur eggs outside but lots of eggs filled with candy. Yum!

Good Friday trip to the Magic House

We had a busy weekend. On Friday we took Logan to the Magic House. It's a St. Louis Children's Museum. I remember going there as a little kid and like all kids that grew up in St. Louis (I think), I remember making my hair stand up by touching the electrostatic generator. Well, now they have added on to the Magic house and it's more than double in size. Also kids are only FREE if they are under 1. Since Logan is 11 1/2 months we thought we'd go ahead and go while he was still free. We mostly only did the activities in the For Baby and Me, Waterworks, and A little bit of Magic sections. Then we walked around and looked at other kids playing. It was SUPER crowded but Logan had fun watching other kids.

Here is Logan in the boat listening to Row, row, row your boat.

He also got to play in a baby sized ball pit.

This is a barn that plays animal sounds. Then you can open the doors and see all of the animals.
He got to drive the bus... just like Grandpa.

This is called Waterworks. The kids wear these red "raincoats" and then splash and play in the water.

They even have little baby seats so the little ones can get close to the water without getting trampled by the big kids.
This was one of Logan's favorite activities.

In the A Little Bit of Magic area, Logan went down a slide with daddy. He's not that into slides yet.
Then he played in the Lego room. He really wanted to knock down other kid's stuff. Luckily, they all left right after we got in there.
This was his other favorite thing... digging in the sand. I think daddy enjoyed it too!
Then we walked around the Magic house. This area is in the children's village.
The kids can fish in the pond, then carry their catch "up stream". The fish "swims" back through a stream under the floor of the village. The village also has a market where the kids can shop or be the checker, a bank, an electric company, a house, a library, a TV studio, a restaurant, and a tree house. I went there with the first graders when I taught at Oakville and they LOVED it. It's very hands on. I can't wait until Logan is old enough for that. The new section of the Magic house has an awesome fairy tale exhibit, a forensic lab, and a climber, and a bunch of other stuff. You could keep busy there all day.
Except for the crazy crowds, it was a fun outing and it was so nice that Greg got to go with us. I can't wait for more fun family time.

Grandparents come to visit

On Sunday, Grandma and Grandpa Higgins and Great-Grandma Higgins came to visit Logan. First we went to church. Here is Logan before church with Daddy.

Then the Grandparents came over for lunch. At first, Logan wasn't too sure about his visitors. He's usually a little slow to warm up at his own house.

But when he saw all the candy they brought him, he remembered how much he loves Grandma and Grandpa.

Oh, and Grandma brought him CUPCAKES!!

He also snuggled with Great Grandma Higgins. It was so sweet because if you know Logan, he is not a cuddler.
