Hey, Hey, Hey...

I learned someping new today! Those are the lyrics to Logan's favorite song right now. It's from a Barney video. Of course, only Logan pronounces it, "someping". aaanyway.... We have been learning a lot lately. We started the 2s curriculum on Hubbards Cupboard. It has been so much fun. We learned about Baby Animals this month. Here are just a few of the things we've done.

Logan "fed" his animals-- they like macaroni noodles! I got this idea from Parents as Teachers.

He painted with these cool poster paints. There is hardly any mess at ALL. I got them at Hobby Lobby!!

Logan matched baby animals to the correct mommy animal.

We practiced 1 to 1 correspondance by putting 1 baby animal cut out in each "bed" and then covering each one with a "blanket" (felt square). He LOVED this activity and did it over and over and over and over!

And then Logan wanted to "sleep" like the baby animals.

We also went to our first library story time. It was on Frogs. Logan LOVED it. He was the youngest kid so he was kind of crazy. I also found out he doesn't have a shy bone in his body. The librarian said, "Does anyone know anything about Frogs?" Logan yelled, "yes!" So she asked him to share. He stared at her like, "I have no idea what you are talking about." I want to get him a shirt that says, "I'm only 2." Since he's so big people always expect more out of him. He was so excited by the books and he'd yell out, "Frog! Fish! Snake!" A few times he just started singing, "da da da da da da." and we had to go to the back of the room until he could be quiet again. Since I tend to be a little shy in new situations, I wish he could be a little less outgoing ;) He even got to make 2 frog crafts and play a game with a blow up frog. He did really good during the game. He stayed in his spot and he took turns.
Tyson has been "learning" too. We've been practicing sitting up and he can sit for a few second tripod style. He's also been playing in the exersaucer. He really likes to grab toys and has begun to pass toys from one hand to the other.
