Tyson is 6 months old today (actually yesterday, I forgot to publish yesterday because we were at the land)! Can you believe it? He's halfway to one! It is going SO fast. Sometimes I'd even have to say it is going too fast! He is such a good baby. He's super smiley and laid back. He wakes up in the morning with a sweet smile and he stays that way-- as long as you give him plenty to eat! He is a big boy. He's wearing 12 month clothes and some of them are too small for him! He's got chubby cheeks that are so kissable and rolly-poly legs. He's probably so roly-poly because he's such a good eater.
He started eating solid foods last month. So far he has had rice cereal, bananas, peaches, green beans, sweet potatoes, carrots, squash, and pears. I've been able to make almost all of his baby food-- and many of the vegetables have come right from Grandpa Bradley's garden. He has also started eating Cheerios. He can rake them with his open hand and occasionally gets a few in his mouth. He seems to enjoy trying to get them into his mouth. He also started on the cup and is doing amazing with it! It helps having a big brother to watch.
He loves his brother Logan-- most of the time-- he doesn't like when Logan roars at him or when Logan uses him for a pillow. At least Logan warns him he says, "Tyson, pillow." and then lays on him. He likes to watch Logan play with his megablocks. Tyson also likes to bang the megablocks together and pick them up and drop them. He really likes toys and will sit and pull toys one at a time out of a container.
He also loves books. He loves to hear me read stories to his brother. He likes nursery rhymes and songs. His favorite books to look at are books with pictures of other babies. He can sit up all by himself and on Friday started trying to scoot himself on his bottom backwards. I'm not ready for him to be mobile yet. When you hold him, he kicks his feet the entire time or trys to squirm away-- unless he is tired and then he is a very good cuddler. He is the perfect addition to our little family and we all love him so much! Happy half-birthday, buddy!
