Some of the reasons why I love them

I love him because he is generally content doing this.

I love him because even though he gets in to EVERYTHING, he finds funny things to do with the stuff he's gotten in to.

(I do not love that he put the icecream scooper in the toilet last night. It will be funny someday when I read this back. Not funny today.)

Sick Day Stuff

If you see someone walking around Arnold, MO looking like a zombie, don't be frightened. It's not a zombie. It's me. Mother of TWO sick children, two and under... going on day #6 of sickness. Logan came down with a fever last Wednesday. He ran a fever for about 24 hours and then was ok, not 100% but I thought he was ok. On Saturday he started complaining of "mouth hurt." and stopped eating. He has hardly eaten anything since Saturday. On Sunday, I self-diagnosed him with hand, foot, and mouth disease. Thank Goodness for webmd when the doctor's office is closed!! Today I called the doctor to tell him my diagnosis and he concurred that he probably has HFMD. His recommendation? Popsicles, icecream, cold drinks, jello. Why can't I have a doctor prescribe icecream to me??? (Ok, I don't really want to get HFMD, it produces very painful blisters in the mouth. Ouch!)
Last night, Logan nicely shared his fever with his baby brother, Tyson. Tyson ran a fever of 101-102 all night and through the day today. It seems to have broken this evening. I hope, hope, hope he doesn't get a mouthful of blisters.
So, what have we been doing to pass the time while we are home sick?
1. Playing with Trains

2. Watching TV

3.  Building with Megablocks

4. Fighting over who gets to sit in mommy's lap

Sitting up

Tyson has started sitting up for a minute or two on his own. He gets more sturdy everyday.

When he falls over, he works really hard to get back up!

I make him pose for me. He loves it, I promise!

You know what I love? These baby blue eyes!

Brothers in the Bath

I was giving Tyson a morning bath while Logan watched Sesame Street. Unfortunately Sesame Street must not have been stimulating that day because Logan popped in the bathroom and said, "I wash Tyson." First he washed his toes. And then he just climbed right into the tub (with his diaper still on). Tyson just thought it was funny. Then again,  Tyson thinks everything Logan does is funny!!

Pants on the ground

Pants on the ground
Looking like a fool with your pants on the ground!
(But momma thinks you are a cutie!)
We're still working on getting dressed/undressed. It looks like we'll be working on fashion for a while as well.
Oh, and Logan, don't be suprised if some of these pictures show up at your wedding! Love, Mom

Par-tay at Grandma and Pa-pa's place

Grandma and Grandpa Higgins had their hands full last weekend watching Jared and Jacob, so we thought we'd crash their party and make their hands be a little "fuller".

On Sunday afternoon we went to Warrenton so that the boys could play with Jared and Jacob, their cousins. They had a great time together. Logan followed Jared around. Jared was pretty good at showing him the ropes.

Anytime Jared would suggest something, Logan would say, "O-tay." After a while, though, Jared got  tired of a 2 year old. He came in and said, "Jackie-a, Logan keeps asking me where'd the frog go? over and over and over and over and over." I smiled and said, "sorry, he's a 2 year old. They do stuff like that!"
We took the boys outside to keep them entertained. They liked playing in the pool. Uncle Brian gave them a little extra cold water out of the house.

Then we all went down to the lake (in Grandma and Grandpa's backyard. Lucky!) Logan got to take his first boat ride with daddy.

Jared waited on the shore for his turn to go in the boat with Pa-pa.

Of course, Pa-pa jumped IN the lake for a swim! Then Pa-pa took Logan for a swim in the lake. Logan just laid on his back and floated with his eyes closed. Such a little water bug.
The babies went down to the lake too. Uncle Brian and Kari got lots of baby time!

I'm pretty sure Tyson is saying to Jacob, "Dude, you're hilarious!"

I'm pretty sure Jacob is saying, "Let's get out of here. They put a hat on you but I'm in full sun here. WHERE IS MY MOMMY?"

So, the baby boys went inside. Then all the boys had a little wrestle-mania, snacks, toy time, etc.

My kids were SO TIRED after playing all day. Logan fell asleep as we were getting on to Interstate 70 on the Warrenton exit. He slept from 5:30 pm until 7 am the next day!!!

Why I am a terrible mother...

I took my boys to the zoo. Good mom.

I let them see the lions. Good mom.

I let them see the giraffes. Good mom.

I brought along their grandparents to fight over who got to hold them. Good mom.

I let Grandpa take Logan on the carousel. Good mom. (Or Good Grandpa).
I did not take one single picture of Tyson at the zoo. Bad mom. Horrible. Terrible. Mom.
When we got home I took this adorable picture of him in his stroller. C'mon buddy, that's all you did at the zoo anyway, sit in your stroller and look adorable! (And chew on things because your first tooth was about to poke through!)
