Tonight while I was cleaning up from dinner Logan began his usual, "babadadapapababaf-f-f"jabber that is constant around our house. Then all of a sudden I heard, "baba dadada mama". Hmmm, he had never before said, "Ma-ma". I smiled and went on.
About an hour later, after bathtime, Greg and I were playing with Logan on our bed. He crawled up on top of me, looked in my eyes, and said, "ma-ma". I don't know if it was intentional or not, but that was all he said and then he crawled back to see Greg.
It was the first time in my life that someone called ME ma-ma. Someday I will get jaded to that. Somedays I will hate hearing that word called over and over and over and over. That's why I don't ever want to forget that moment.

25 Random Things about Logan
The 25 random things lists are cirrculating all over facebook so I thought I'd make a 25 list for Logan.
1. Logan is 9 months, 4 days old.
2. He is 21 lbs. 12 oz. He's in the 75 th percentile for weight.
3. He is 30 1/4 inches long. He's in the 95 th percentile for height. He was off the charts at his 6 month visit. He is back on the charts now!
4. He crawls all over the house but his favorite place to be is under mommy's feet.
5. He is obsessed with electric cords. No matter how hard I try to hide them, he will find them.
6. He can pull up to standing.
7. His favorite place to pull up is in the bathtub. I tell him it's dangerous but he doesn't care.
8. He loves to take baths and he loves, loves, loves his rubber ducky.
9. He will pretty much eat anything. Including anything he finds on the floor. His pincher grasp is way too good and he can find the tiniest thing on the floor and try to eat it.
10. He smiles and laughs all the time.
11. He says da-da but never ma-ma.
12. He loves to read and be read to. He can now pick up and book, turn the pages, and "tell himself a story" in baby babble. I love to watch him read!
13. He does not like to drink his milk. We added cheese, yogurt and pudding to his diet to make up for this.
14. He is completely weaned!!!!! He gets all of his liquid nourishment from a cup or a juice box now. :)
15. He doesn't like loud noises and banging. He won't cry but he acts annoyed.
16. He gives good hugs and kisses.
17. I'm trying SO HARD to teach him to blow a kiss by valentines day. No luck yet.
18. He sleeps from 7-7 every night and takes two naps-- most days. I'm praying for this to last.
19. He laughs when daddy makes rude noises. Seriously.
20. He is really into playing ball right now. He has a little baseball and a big plastic ball. He chases both all over the kitchen.
21. He is a "student" in Parents as Teachers. He seems to like his visits with Ms. Amy.
22. He loves music and is obsessed with the CD player.
23. He is also obsessed with the DVD/ VCR. I guess he likes electronics.
24. He is upstairs with his Grandma right now while I'm doing this :)
25. He is such an amazing gift from God. When I go into his room every morning and he squeals in delight I thank God for him. Sometimes he is a lot of work but I am so thankful that God gave us this kiddo.

And then there were three....
Today is Chinese New Year. Today is the day my sister has chosen to announce to the world that she is adopting a little boy, Alex. Today is Alex's fourth birthday. Happy Birthday, Alex! I think Logan will think you are just as cool as your big brother Nick. Here is a picture of the two boys, soon there will be three!

You can check out my sister's adoption journal at www.youbelong.net/pruett.
Please pray for Julie, Ryan, Nick, and Alex that they can be united as a family soon.

I like to move it...
Logan is on the move. I've been waiting to post this because I wanted to say he is crawling. He's not crawling. In fact, I'm not sure he will ever crawl. But he is moving. He rolls. He scoots on his bottom. Sometimes I don't know how he gets from here to there. But the next thing I know, he's opening the doors on the entertainment center looking for a movie! Oh, life changes so fast.
The other day I left him on the floor while I went to load the car for a day at my parents.
When I returned, Logan was gone. My heart did that crazy drop to the pit of your stomach thing. You know, I never felt that quite as strongly until I became a mommy.
And then a second later, I looked down and saw this. Peekaboo!
He traveled a pretty good distance. :)
Ps. At my mom's house yesterday, he pulled up all by himself! You go, boy!

8.5 months old
I am eight months old.

I like to eat my socks.
I like to play with my barn.
I like to sit in the laundry basket and watch TV.
I like to drink juicy juice.
But I don't like to go out in the cold.
(For all my Reading Recovery friends, do you think this post could be a R.R. book? About a level 4 or 5? :) )

Juicy Juice
Logan is now into drinking Juicy Juice for breakfast. He does really well with a straw- much better than with a cup. Since the doctor wants him weaned by 9 months (that's ....ummm... in like 3 weeks, yikes!) and he doesn't like drinking from a cup, we might have a problem. Luckily, Juicy Juice is here to solve our problem.
There are no problems with Juicy Juice. But when you mix it with an 8 month old who had recently decided to assert his independence, a few problems arise.
Figured it out!
Juicy juice. Yum!!

Christmas with the Higgins family
We celebrated Christmas with Glenn, Joyce, the Pennings, and Brian on Saturday. Logan was very happy all day. He must have known it was our last Christmas gathering! He once again enjoyed the bows, boxes and wrapping paper more than the actual presents.
Jared was the present passer.
Everyone got lots of fun, cool stuff.
Logan got a puzzle and cellphone from Uncle Brian, slippers, mega blocks, and a Fridge Phonics from Grandma and Grandpa, and a John Deere camo shirt from Pam, Jason, and Jared. We spent a considerable about of time trying to unpackage the toys.
We also enjoyed good conversation and company and sat around and ate Christmas cookies.
Logan is going to have a lot of fun trying to keep up with his cousin Jared in the next few years.
After the present opening, we had another talent(less) show. Brian had given Jared a percussion set. Brian doesn't have kids yet so he doesn't know that percussion sets are not a good idea. Pam probably won't forget. She will probably buy a percussion set for every one of Brian's kids someday... or at least something that makes a lot of noise. But I digress... our talent show consisted of singing Christmas carols while various people played various percussion instruments.
After the talent show, we were all tired out and it was time for us to go home. The rest of the family went to the Blues game for the evening but we are not partiers like the rest of the family and we had to go home and SLEEP!! :)
